Okinawa (mid-March 1946).
According to NavSource Online, the LST-724 performed Japanese repatriation duty (as did the LST-847 until 4 March 1946) and then moved war materiel from Ie Shima to Naha, Okinawa until late March 1946.
After previous visits in July and September of 1945, the LST-847 arrived in Okinawa for the third and last time on 6 March 1946. The LST-847 departed Buckner Bay, Okinawa on 16 March 1946, bound for Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with a load of aviation supplies and torpedoes.
Therefore, this photo was likely taken in Buckner Bay, Okinawa sometime during the period of March 6-15, 1946.
